1. Dragon Boat Festival (5th Day of the 5th Lunar Month)
Centered on the theme of "Dragon Boat Festival Folk Customs", the activity deeply restores the Dragon Boat Festival folk customs in Jiangnan, combining food experience and interactive fun to fully show the characteristics of the Dragon Boat Festival in the water town. In terms of food, exclusive dragon boat banquets and "Five-Yellow Banquets" are launched: the dragon boat banquet is enjoyed on wooden boats, with dishes mainly made of freshwater ingredients and seasonal fruits and vegetables for the Dragon Boat Festival, exquisitely arranged and in line with dragon boat culture, allowing diners to enjoy the scenery along the river while tasting delicious food; the "Five-Yellow Banquet" follows the Jiangnan custom of eating "five yellows" (yellow croaker, eel, salted duck yolk, cucumber, realgar wine) during the Dragon Boat Festival. Centered on the traditional "Douxiang Moon Worship" ceremony, it reproduces the Mid-Autumn Festival prayer tradition in Jiangnan, with warm interactive links to create a peaceful and festive atmosphere of reunion. The "Douxiang Moon Worship" ceremony is held at the riverside square in Xizha. A multi-layered Douxiang (stacked with incense and paper decorations, exquisitely shaped) is placed on the scene. Worshipers wear traditional costumes, burn incense, offer sacrifices, and recite sacrificial texts in accordance with ancient rituals, praying for a full moon, family reunion, peace and prosperity. Visitors can stop to watch and feel the solemnity of the traditional worship ceremony. After the ceremony, a prayer interactive area is set up. Visitors can receive prayer cards, write down their wishes and hang them on the prayer rack, or hold lotus lanterns and put them into the river to place good expectations; at the same time, a mooncake sharing session is opened. 3. Lantern Festival (15th Day of the 1st Lunar Month)
With "carrying lanterns and walking across bridges" as the core custom, it integrates traditional meanings and modern experiences, combining fun and prayer significance. During the event, the scenic area provides visitors with various hand-made lanterns, including traditional paper lanterns, cartoon-shaped lanterns, LED light-emitting lanterns and other styles to choose from. After receiving the lanterns, visitors can walk along the ancient bridge group in Xizha, passing more than ten ancient bridges such as Qinghe Bridge and Tongji Bridge, with a total distance of about 1.5 kilometers. "Carrying lanterns and walking across bridges" has long had the meaning of keeping fit and praying for blessings. During the bridge walk, the light and shadow of the lanterns reflect the bridge surface and the river, and the ancient bridges, lanterns and water scenes complement each other, allowing you to take atmospheric photos at will; at the same time, a prayer check-in point is set up on each bridge.
