The half-day tour to Zhujiajiao was exactly what I hoped for. The company arranged a comfortable ride, and the driver made the journey out of Shanghai very easy. Once we arrived, the guide led us straight to the highlights—Fangsheng Bridge, the peaceful lanes, and the beautiful Kezhi Garden. She explained just enough history to make the visit meaningful while also leaving time for us to wander and take in the scenery. Everything felt well-organized, and I came away with a much deeper appreciation for this water town.

Our half-day trip from Shanghai to Zhujiajiao was wonderfully organized from start to finish. The driver arrived promptly at our hotel, and the ride out to the water town was smooth and comfortable. The car was clean, and I appreciated that he drove carefully, which allowed us to relax before the sightseeing began.

At Zhujiajiao, our guide, Lily, took over with warmth and professionalism. She spoke excellent English, but more importantly, she brought the stories of the old water town to life. Walking over Fangsheng Bridge, she explained the history behind the release of fish for blessings, something I would never have known on my own. She navigated us through the narrow lanes and quiet alleys with ease, always choosing the less crowded paths so we could enjoy the atmosphere without being rushed.

I especially enjoyed Kezhi Garden, where Lily pointed out the blend of traditional architecture and garden design unique to Zhujiajiao. She also knew where to pause for the best views along North Street, giving us enough time to take photos and absorb the charm of the canals. What impressed me was her ability to balance historical details with light anecdotes, making the visit engaging rather than overwhelming.

The company handled everything smoothly, from booking to confirmation. It was clear they’ve thought about every detail to make the experience stress-free. Overall, the combination of a professional driver, a thoughtful guide, and well-planned pacing turned this into a highlight of our time in Shanghai.

The Zhujiajiao Water Town Half-Day Tour was a perfect escape from the chaos of Shanghai. Our guide, John, was fantastic. He gave us a deep dive into the history of this charming water town, from the canals to the old bridges. We explored the narrow streets and got to see a quieter side of China that you wouldn’t expect so close to a modern city.

I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of hidden gems right under the hustle and bustle of a modern city, so when I saw the Zhujiajiao Water Town Half-Day Tour from Shanghai, I jumped at the chance to explore this ancient water town. My guide, John, was incredible from start to finish. His knowledge of the area’s history made the tour much more than just a sightseeing experience.

Zhujiajiao is often referred to as “the Venice of Shanghai” because of its beautiful canals, ancient bridges, and well-preserved traditional buildings. As we wandered through the narrow streets, John shared fascinating details about the town’s past and how it evolved over centuries. What stood out to me was how untouched the town felt compared to the usual tourist destinations around Shanghai. We spent time at the iconic Fangsheng Bridge, and I was really impressed by how John made sure we avoided the typical crowds, taking us to quieter spots where we could get a true sense of the town's charm.

But there was an unexpected twist! As we approached the Qing Dynasty Post Office, a sudden downpour caught us off guard. Instead of letting the weather dampen the experience, John quickly adapted. He suggested we visit a local tea house, which ended up being a highlight. The tea ceremony was intimate and calming, a perfect break from the rain, and John explained the significance of tea culture in China with such passion that it added a new layer to our visit.

Despite the rain, John remained upbeat and flexible, adjusting our schedule so that we still got to experience all of Zhujiajiao’s best spots. We ended the tour by taking a boat ride through the canals, where we got to see the town from a unique perspective. John made sure to take plenty of photos of us on the boat, and the entire experience felt personalized and smooth.

If you're looking for a tranquil escape from Shanghai’s fast pace, Zhujiajiao is a wonderful place to visit. John’s expertise and adaptability truly enhanced the experience, making it one of my favorite days in China.

Lisa guided me and two of my friends on a tour of Zhujiajiao Water Town during the epidemic (Shanghai is under contol and open for tourism), with a couple of additional stop in the French Concession area on our way back to the hotel. Lisa is simply an amazing tour guide. She is incredibly knowledgeable of Chinese history, and we learned so much - particularly about Shanghai - during the course of our trip to and from Zhujiajiao. Her English is perfect, which is a huge bonus for those of us who don't speak a word of Mandarin. She provided us with one of our very best travel experiences, and I can't recommend Lisa highly enough. Thanks for Sam's China Private Tours in Shanghai taking care of us during the tour during the epidemic.

Highly recommend visiting Zhujiajiao if you want to see how the Chinese people lived in the past. My friend and I had a wonderful time on our trip to Zhujiajiao From Shanghai. We thought your service was the perfect way to get an introduction to this beautiful water town. It was nice to leave all the details to the trip and to be able to relax and enjoy the trip. We thought the journey was an excellent value.

Our guide, Tom, was polite, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Tom was able to provide the background on everything we were seeing - e.g., the fung shui elements in the gardens, the traditional tea service for business meetings, how the Chinese postal system worked in its early years, etc. His knowledge really helped enrich our visit.

The door-to-door service was so convenient and Tom was prepared with all the admittance tickets that we needed to enter Zhujiajiao, visit the gardens, go on a boat ride, etc. He also recommended good spots to grab a bite (and places to avoid). It would have taken us much more time to arrange everything ourselves.

We have already recommended your tour to several of our friends. Our compliments on a well-run service!
