Alex was the guide during our Shanghai full day tour and she definitely deserves a five star rating! As we were travelling with a toddler, we had to slightly delay our trip and this last minute request was met without any issue by Alex and the driver. During the day trip, Alex was knowledgeable, thoughtful and extremely accommodating to our requests. The vehicle we travelled in was spacious, clean and comfortable and the driver was smooth when driving us around the city. We left our sunglasses in the car and Alex very kindly brought it back to our hotel the very next morning. Grateful for the hospitality shown by the team.

We highly recommend Shanghai Private Tour for a day trip to Suzhou. We are experienced travelers and generally able to navigate airports and metro systems, however, the Shanghai and Suzhou train stations would have been complete diasters for us without a guided tour. No english subtitles on truly giant train track board; thousands of people on missions to catch trains. Our guide Alex had prepurchased tickets, collected passports in advance and cheerfully guided us through the maze. His english skills are excellent--to the extent that she truly understands American humor and responds accordingly. He was able to intuit our food preferences and found just the right spicy restaurant and street snacks. We also appreciated his tips on sights in Shanghai (thanks Alex for guiding us to the umbrells in Peoples Park). At the end of the day, it felt like we had seen Suzhou with a new friend.

Su Zhou is a beautiful city full of classical gardens. The old town is charming and the atmosphere is calming and serene despite the traffic and crowds. It's just 1/2 hour from shanghai by bullet train which is the best way to travel there. Clean efficient and punctual. The food there is amazing especially the snacks , some of which are made freshly.
Nancy , my guide , made this trip seamless .. I was met at the hotel, whisked to the train station, stepped into the train and was in Su Zhou in minutes. She seemed somewhat aloof initially but warmed up quickly and we got along great. She was conversant in English and mandarin. Nancy was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We visited the main sights in Su Zhou, rode on a tricycle and went on a boat ride . We had a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant , tried chestnuts, chicken feet and some roast meat along the way. She was also very caring and helpful. As it drizzled and was getting dark towards the end of our tour, she took extra care to make sure I didn't slip as we walked along the slippery lanes.
It was a wonderful day out with a new friend!

Alex took me and my friend around in Hangzhou for a day trip from Shanghai. We visited the west lake, green tea plantations, the celadon museum, and the Leifeng tower. Taylor spoke very fluent English. He also knew a lot of culture background and interesting anecdotes behind the sight seeing places. I would strongly recommend him to tour in Hangzhou.

Had a great time in this trip - was a really good way to spend a day outside of the city. Alex (our guide) was brilliant the whole time and was extremely accommodating to what we wanted to do at every opportunity- would highly recommend!

We had a very spontaneous trip with no plan and our guide Alex was able to show us the must see sites in HangZhou such as the West Lake, the temple, Longjing tea plantation & village. He was very informative and could tell us all about an area's history and current events. The fast train ride from Shanghai to Suzhou was a great experience as well. Highly enjoyed it.

Booked the day trip to hangzhou for my family. Was greeted by a bilingual guide who was as refreshing as Nancy. She was helpful, responsible and she knows her craft Super well. Guided us the entire day and took really good care of us. Service was exemplary and I would definitely highly recommend anyone who is considering day trip to hangzhou to use her. Thumbs up!

Our tour guide Bonnie picked us up at our hotel lobby and we arrived in Hangzhou via bullet train. She is very efficient and prompt as she has gotten our bullet train tickets in advance so we didn’t need to waste any time. When we arrived in Hangzhou, she brought us to our first stop to have lunch at a local restaurant which was super sumptuous! Bonnie is highly informative as she will share with us the history behind the temples and the West lake. I would definitely highly recommend to use Bonnie as your guide when you visit Hangzhou! She has made our first trip to Hangzhou memorable.

We have just arrived back in Australia today. Firstly, I would like to say we had a fantastic time with China Private Tour and would not hesitate in recommending their packages to our friends and family. Being the first time we have booked an organized trip via the internet, I must admit that I was a little apprehensive and not sure what it would be like but it was fantastic.

We had no complaints from the first day we were picked up from the airport. John our guide in Beijing was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to be with. Our driver was also fantastic, he drove safely and we felt comfortable with his driving.

Our hotels in both cities Beijing and Xian were clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good.

The service and food selection in all the restaurants throughout the tour trip were excellent and the organized shows were very good. The restaurant we liked the most was the Beijing duck dinner restaurant.

Our guides John in Beijing and Julia in Xian were fantastic. Their knowledge was outstanding and they explained everything in detail. Their English was good and we had no problem understanding them. They were fun to be with and took good care of our needs and requests. The cars were great, clean and comfortable.

We were extremely pleased with the tours we did and would not hesitate in booking another tour with China Private Tour in the future.

Our favorite guides were Sara and Jimmy. Sara taught us a lot, both historical and current information. She also went out of her way to provide some music that she enjoys since she knew I was looking for popular music while I was in China. Jimmy provided a wealth of information and made sure we all were able to pick up a few last gifts before our time in China was over, and he did this without costing us any items from our agenda. They both packed a lot of activities and fun in a short amount of time. Went above and beyond what could have been expected of them. We wish we could have had more time with Judy. She was a lot of fun and had a unique personality. Our favorite tour activities were the small boat excursion and the Tang Dynasty dinner show.

We had no problems with communicating with any of the guides. Some spoke a more Americanized version of English than others but we enjoyed the differences between the guides. We never felt that we were missing information due to a lack of communication.
