We took our 6-year-old on this one-day Beijing tour from Shanghai, and it was a hit for the whole family. The company was incredibly helpful from the start: they answered all our questions about kid-friendly facilities at the sites and even suggested packing snacks for the train, which made the journey smoother.

Our guide was a godsend—patient with our curious kid, who kept asking questions about the “big palace” (the Forbidden City). He turned history into stories, telling tales of emperors and their families to keep her engaged, and even pointed out dragon motifs for her to spot. He also knew where to find clean restrooms and shaded spots to take breaks, which was a huge plus.

The driver was fantastic too: the car was spacious enough for our stroller and luggage, and he drove steadily, even in busy Beijing traffic. He always opened the door for us and waited patiently when we needed extra time to get the kid settled.

The itinerary was smartly designed for families: we visited Tiananmen Square first (when it was less crowded), then the Forbidden City with a focus on the most kid-friendly areas, and ended with a delicious, mild Peking duck lunch that our daughter actually enjoyed. There was no rushing, and the guide made sure we had time for photos and little detours that made the day fun.

It’s not easy to make a one-day tour work for a family with a young kid, but this team pulled it off. We left with wonderful memories and a kid who’s now obsessed with “Beijing’s big palace.”
