This trip was a beautiful mixture of city life and nature. From Shanghai’s bustling streets to the peaceful gardens of Hangzhou and Suzhou, it was truly a journey through the heart of China.

Andy was our guide in Shanghai, and she made the city come alive. We started with Nanjing Road and took a scenic boat cruise on the Huangpu River, where we got the best views of the city’s skyline. It was a perfect introduction to Shanghai’s unique blend of old and new. She then took us to Jade Buddha Temple and Yuyuan Garden, where we learned about Shanghai’s rich cultural heritage.

The next day, we took the bullet train to Hangzhou, where Darcy greeted us. West Lake was the highlight, and the boat ride was just the perfect way to experience the lake’s beauty. We also visited Guo Garden, which had such peaceful surroundings, and Meijiawu Tea Plantation gave us a deeper understanding of Chinese tea culture.

The day in Suzhou was magical. We explored Lingering Garden with Sophia, who gave us fantastic insights into its design. The boat ride along the Grand Canal was relaxing and gave us a different view of this historical city. Panmen Gate was another lovely stop that felt steeped in history.

Tongli was the last stop, and walking through the peaceful streets of the water town was the perfect way to end the trip. It was like stepping back in time.
