We started in Shanghai, a city that blends history with modernity perfectly. From the hustle and bustle of Nanjing Road to the historical charm of The Bund, it was an eye-opening start. The boat cruise on the Huangpu River was especially magical—seeing the skyline light up in the evening was one of the highlights of the trip.

Darcy, our guide in Shanghai, really brought the city to life. She gave us such an insightful introduction to places like Jade Buddha Temple and Yuyuan Garden, explaining the historical significance of each spot with such enthusiasm. The charm of the Old French Concession and Tianzifang were another highlight, where we got to enjoy the local culture and quirky boutiques.

After a smooth train ride to Beijing, we began our exploration of this ancient capital. Andy was our guide in Beijing, and his knowledge of Chinese history was unparalleled. We visited Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and Jingshan Park, all of which were made even more impressive by Andy’s storytelling. The Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven provided a beautiful balance of cultural exploration and serenity, making the trip feel like a spiritual journey as much as a historical one.
