I had the pleasure of experiencing a 13-day tour of China that took us from Guangzhou to Shanghai, Guilin, Xi’an, and finally Beijing. The entire trip was expertly organized, and the guides in each city made the experience exceptional. In Guangzhou, we explored the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, strolled through Yongqingfang, and marveled at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, with the guide providing rich historical context. The city’s modern energy was evident at Huacheng Square and Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. Our guide, Andy, was especially knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. The high-speed train ride to Guilin was smooth, and in this stunning city, we explored the Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave, and the charming Daxu Ancient Town, each with unique stories to tell.
One of the trip’s highlights was the Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, where the picturesque landscapes left us speechless. Yangshuo's West Street and the Ten-Mile Gallery provided an authentic glimpse of local culture, and the Butterfly Spring Scenic Area and Moon Hill were perfect spots for photos. After flying to Shanghai, we explored the city’s famous landmarks like Yuyuan Garden, the Old French Concession, and The Bund. The Huangpu River night cruise offered spectacular views of the city skyline. In Xi’an, we were in awe of the Terracotta Warriors and the fascinating history of the Great Wild Goose Pagoda. The ancient charm of the Muslim Quarter was a perfect end to our visit. In Beijing, we marveled at the Mutianyu Great Wall, the grandeur of the Forbidden City, and the lively Hutongs of Nanluoguxiang. Throughout the trip, the professionalism of our guides in each city, as well as the comfort and convenience of the transportation, made this a trip of a lifetime. From the bustling cities to the serene landscapes, every day brought something new and unforgettable.
