This two-day trip from Shanghai to Suzhou and Hangzhou was a perfect blend of culture, nature, and history. We began in Suzhou, where we explored the stunning Lingering Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its intricate landscaping and serene atmosphere. Our guide shared detailed insights about the garden’s history and the philosophy behind its design, making the visit even more meaningful. We then wandered through Panmen Gate, an ancient structure that marks the entrance to the city’s historical district. Pingjiang Historic Street offered a taste of old Suzhou with its traditional shops, canals, and peaceful vibes. The Suzhou No.1 Silk Mill gave us a fascinating look at the city’s silk production and its importance to China’s cultural heritage.

After exploring Suzhou, we headed to Hangzhou, where the beauty of West Lake left us in awe. The tranquil boat ride across the lake, surrounded by ancient pagodas and lush greenery, was a highlight. We also visited Guo Garden, a beautifully restored garden showcasing the elegance of traditional Chinese architecture. Meijiawu Tea Plantation gave us the chance to learn about Hangzhou’s famous tea culture, and the Bamboo Lined Path at Yunqi was an unforgettable experience, offering a peaceful walk through towering bamboo groves. Our final stop in Hangzhou was the modern Qianjiang CBD, a sharp contrast to the natural beauty we had just experienced, with its impressive skyline and sleek buildings. Throughout the journey, our guide ensured a smooth and informative experience, while the driver made sure we were always comfortable.
