As first-time visitors to Shanghai, we wanted a mix of cultural exploration and scenic beauty, and this one-day tour was the perfect introduction to the city. Our guide, Jack, was fantastic—knowledgeable and friendly. He gave us a deep dive into the history and culture of Shanghai, while also making sure we had plenty of time to explore at our own pace.

We started the day in Zhujiajiao Ancient Water Town, a charming, peaceful escape from the city. The canals, stone bridges, and old houses made us feel like we had stepped back in time. Jack shared fascinating insights into the town’s history, and we enjoyed walking along the winding streets, taking in the traditional architecture. After that, we made our way to The Bund, where Jack pointed out the different colonial-era buildings and explained their significance. The views of the modern skyline across the river were incredible.

Later, we visited Yuyuan Garden, and Jack's detailed explanations about the garden’s design and symbolism made it even more special. The bazaar nearby was lively and full of energy, with great shopping opportunities and delicious snacks.
