I usually avoid group tours, but the Classic Beijing Highlights Day Tour turned out to be a great decision. John was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable but also approachable. We flew from Shanghai early in the morning, and by noon, we were walking through the Forbidden City. The highlights of the day for me were the majestic Tiananmen Square and the peaceful Summer Palace, both of which I could have spent hours at. The pace was fast, but John made sure we didn’t miss anything important. It’s a whirlwind tour, but perfect for anyone who wants to experience Beijing in one day!
