In Luoyang, our guide brought the Longmen Grottoes to life, pointing out hidden carvings and sharing stories that only locals seem to know.

The drivers were equally impressive, navigating Beijing’s busy roads, Luoyang’s temple routes, and the mountain curves near Shaolin with calm precision. The vehicles were spotless and comfortable, always stocked with water, and our preferences—like extra rest stops or lower A/C—were remembered without reminders.

The itinerary flowed beautifully: from the Forbidden City’s grand halls to the peaceful White Horse Temple, from Shaolin’s kung fu energy to the awe of Xi’an’s Terracotta Army. Climbing Jingshan Park, biking Xi’an’s ancient city wall at sunset, and sipping tea in the gardens of the Summer Palace added fun and depth throughout.
