Our nine-day trip to Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Huangshan was an amazing journey that combined urban vitality, ancient charm and natural wonders, leaving a lasting impression.
The tour guides in every city are all excellent. Their story turned every place into a vivid narrative.
Drivers in every city are impeccable. They were punctual and skilled, driving clean and spacious vehicles through the bustling streets (the crowds on Nanjing Road!). And idling along the winding mountain road (leading to Mount Huangshan). They even helped us drag our equipment up the steps of Mount Huangshan - this was no small matter!
The itinerary is very well-paced. The combination of modernity (the lights of the Bund) and tradition (the lanterns of Yu Garden) in Shanghai sets the tone. In Pingjiang Road of Suzhou, there are canals and teahouses, making one feel as if they have stepped into a painting. Meanwhile, the rockeries and pavilions in the Liu Garden showcase classic Chinese design. The cruise on West Lake in Hangzhou is peaceful. Coupled with the tea-picking experience in Meijiawu, it made the whole family burst into laughter. The misty peaks of Mount Huangshan and the ancient villages of Hongcun? It's simply astonishing.
Playability is the key: from feeding koi in the ponds of Suzhou to hiking on the "Fairy Trail" of Mount Huangshan, every stop offers the fun of interaction. Even the serene beauty of Lingyin Temple seems within reach. Zoe explained the ceremony in childlike language.
This trip is not just about sightseeing, but about experiencing the soul of each city. Seamless, happy and rich memories. 5/5 stars, without hesitation.
