I recently took a one-day tour from Shanghai to Suzhou, and it was an enjoyable experience. Our guide Darcy made the day go smoothly with his engaging commentary. We started at Lingering Garden, which was a lovely introduction to Suzhou’s famous gardens. Darcy explained the design principles behind the garden, and we had plenty of time to admire the beautiful landscapes.

Afterward, we visited Panmen Gate, an impressive historic site that gave us a glimpse of Suzhou’s ancient fortifications. The Hanshan Temple was the next stop, offering a tranquil atmosphere that contrasted nicely with the bustling city of Suzhou. Darcy shared insightful details about the temple’s history and cultural significance.

Finally, we explored Shantang Street, which was a picturesque area that reminded me of old Suzhou, with narrow alleys, traditional shops, and tea houses. It was a lovely way to wrap up the day.

A big thank you to Your Way Holiday and Darcy for making this tour so pleasant. The only downside was that the tour felt a bit rushed at times, but overall it was a great introduction to the beauty and culture of Suzhou.
