My one-day tour of Shanghai was a perfect mix of tradition and modernity. Our guide, Darcy, made the experience unforgettable. We started our day with a visit to the stunning Yuyuan Garden & Bazaar. Darcy's deep knowledge of the garden’s history and design really brought the beauty of this ancient place to life. The tranquil ponds, intricate pavilions, and beautiful rockeries felt like a step back in time. From there, we moved to Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road), where the bustling energy of Shanghai’s most famous shopping street was in full swing. I loved the contrast between the old-world charm of Yuyuan and the lively modernity of Nanjing Lu.

Afterward, we visited the peaceful Jade Buddha Temple, which provided a moment of serenity in the midst of the city's hustle. Darcy shared fascinating insights into the significance of the temple and its two jade Buddha statues, which were quite impressive. To wrap up the day, we took a stroll through the Old French Concession, a charming neighborhood with tree-lined streets and European-style architecture. It felt like a different world, peaceful and full of character.
