Your first stop is Yuyuan Garden: The largest one of Shanghai ancient gardens with Ming and Qing architectural styles decorated by beautiful pavilions, miniature lakes, bridges and rockeries. The garden was finished in 1577 by a government officer of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) named Pan Yunduan. time in their old age.

Yuyuan Garden is the only fully restored classical Chinese garden in Shanghai. It has a total area of 20,000 square meters. Although the Garden occupies less than five acres, demonstrates perfectly the sophisticated art of combining several different elements to create a world in miniature - ingeniously mingling pavilions and corridors, small hills and carefully selected and well-placed rocks, lotus ponds, bridges, winding paths, and trees and shrubs.

The area is in the eastern part of Huangpu District centers on a section of Zhongshan Road ,which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River, facing the high, modern skyscrapers of Pudong,Traditionally, the Bund begins at Yan'an Road in the south and ends at Waibaidu Bridge in the north, The Shanghai Bund on which you can embrace the best cityscape, feast on the rich architectural fashions ( Gothic, Baroque, Rome, Renaissance, Classic and Mixed Eastern and Western style, etc.) and know why Shanghai is glorified as "Paris of the East". After lunch, visit the Nanjing RoadWhen people mention Shanghai's Nanjing Road, they're probably talking about East Nanjing Road, a pedestrian shopping street running for blocks between the northeast corner of People's Square and the Bund. Nanjing Road, 5.5 km in full length, enjoys the reputation as China No. 1 commercial center. It was the earliest commercial street in Shanghai since the city opened to the outside world. On both sides of the street, there are more than 360 malls, department stores, specialized shops, restaurants and cultural and recreational facilities, which receive more than 1.5 million customers everyday. In the day - time, the street is crowned with visitors and when the night falls, the colorful neon lights make the street more attractive.

Continue your tour to Jade Buddha Temple: The Jade Buddha Temple, also known as the Shanghai Yufo Temple, is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Shanghai, China. The Jade Buddha Temple was founded in 1882 by Abbot Hui Gen during the reign of Emperor Guang Xu (1875-1908) of the Qing Dynasty and burned down after having been occupied during the 1911 revolution. The temple takes its name from the original two white jade Buddha statues that abbot Hui Gen brought with him from Burma—a sitting statue about 1.95 m (almost 6 1/2 ft) in height and a smaller reclining Buddha.

We thought the tour service from Sam's Shanghai Tours was the perfect way to get an introduction to this city. It was nice to leave all the details to the trip and to be able to relax and enjoy the trip. We thought the journey was an excellent value. Autumn was our guide. She is an energetic, knowledgable person who has a passion for her country and city. Having never been to Shanghai, we were unsure of what we would see or what to expect. Autumn showed us things and told us about Chinese culture and history that made us excited to be there. She focused on the old Shanghai area and gave us a great sampling of Shanghai both old and new.

I was in town for a weekend due to business, and I wanted to explore the city. Shanghai Private tour's was well organized logistically and operationally, and the tour guide, Autumn, was great. Shanghai can be an intimidating place because of its size and scale, not to mention the language. This is a great way to really feel like you’ve seen the city with a local who is very well-versed in the city’s history and speaks excellent English. Tour can also be customized based on your interests and experiences. If you are on the fence, go for it. I am glad I did.

I can’t speak highly enough of the private full-day tour of Shanghai we took with Shanghai Private Tours. Our guide, Autumn, spoke amazing English and fully accommodated every special request we made for the day (like, stopping at a cobbler shop I had read about in a guidebook that makes incredible embroidered shoes). Autumn was super knowledgeable about Shanghai and Chinese history. We never felt rushed, and our tour ended up going for around 10 hours, ending with a night view of the city from the top of Shanghai Tower. This company treats you very well, including things like VIP seats for the boat tour and extra dumplings if you want them for lunch! And dont miss the Tea Ceremony in the Confucius Temple, even if you’re not a tea fan. If you want a comprehensive tour of Shanghai that hits every highlight in a comprehensive, interesting way, choose Shanghai Private tours!

My two children and I were in Shanghai for a couple days to primarily go to Disneyland. We had only one full day to see the rest of Shanghai. We booked a driver and a guide for the whole day to do whatever we wanted. It was amazing. Our guide was Lily. She was so sweet and knowledgeable. We gave her a list of all the things we wanted to do and we saw all of them plus other things she suggested. There is no way we would have been able to do all we did without Lily and our driver. I can't imagine seeing the city any other way. We feel very blessed to have seen Shanghai when we did. Days after we left, they closed down Disneyland due to the coronavirus and then basically China. We hope everyone we met are safe and healthy :)

We had the most wonderful and memorable day in Shanghai. Wendy is the best tour guide I've had! She had excellent knowledge of the sights thaI visited in Shanghai city. Yu Garden is my favorite place, such a beautiful Chinese garden. She also took me on a tour of old part of the city, the old temples and modern part of Shanghai. It was nice to take with her to learn more about life in Shanghai. The lunch that our guide arranged was great. Don't hesitate to book this tour with Shanghai Private Tour and ask for Wendy, you will love it!

It was a fantastic tour with an excellent guide. Autumn, our guide did a great job. The trip started from Yu Garden, the Bund, then Nanjing Road and finally old French Concession with a nice Jade Buddha Temple. Autumn was very knowledgeable on all of the places we visited making it a very interesting tour. And she had fantastic English and spoke both Chinese and english to accommodate all of us since my parents only can speak Chinese. She took us to a lovely small restaurant for lunch where we had amazing food and great conversation.
I would definitely recommend Autumn as a well organized and knowledgeable tour guide! Thank you, Autumn.

From the start everything was easy with Shanghai Private Tour. Great and fast communication, it was simple to book and pay and they sent final details through early as I was unsure about email access when travelling. Alex our guide for the day was brilliant. He was so knowledgeable and willing to tailor the day to what we wanted to do. He also rang around for restaurant bookings for us for the evening and recommended a fabulous bar for amazing night views of the bund which we would never have found and told exactly how to get there in the subway. We loved Shanghai and I am sure this was partly down to having such a great tour. We would definitely recommend Shanghai Private Tour and will certainly use their again next time we go to China!

Alex was the guide during our Shanghai full day tour and she definitely deserves a five star rating! As we were travelling with a toddler, we had to slightly delay our trip and this last minute request was met without any issue by Alex and the driver. During the day trip, Alex was knowledgeable, thoughtful and extremely accommodating to our requests. The vehicle we travelled in was spacious, clean and comfortable and the driver was smooth when driving us around the city. We left our sunglasses in the car and Alex very kindly brought it back to our hotel the very next morning. Grateful for the hospitality shown by the team.

Our group of 6 enjoyed a great, full day tour of Shanghai highlights. China private tour was very responsive to our queries and needs. Our guide was Autumn, who happily shared her extensive knowledge of local culture and history with us. The tour pacing was great. She brought us to a fantastic local dumpling restaurant.
